Laminate Flooring
Laminate flooring is made up of a hard core material that is laminated between a top printed layer and a special backing. The boards are saturated in plastic-type resins. Laminate flooring is a tongue and groove interlocking flooring system that floats on top of an existing sub floor. The sub floor could be wood, a concrete slab, an existing vinyl floor or many other existing flooring types. The word "floating" means the laminate floor is not attached to the floor underneath. Laminate floors are incredibly durable and are available in many wood or tile looks.

Ceramic Tile
Ceramic tile has been used as a flooring material for over 3,500 years. In fact there are Roman tile floors over 2,000 years old that are still intact. The simple, natural and enduring looks of ceramic tile are key features of its lasting appeal. Ceramic tile floors are a very durable long lasting surface.
Porcelain Tile
Porcelain tiles are produced by a different method from normal ceramic tiles. Instead of the glaze being applied to a ceramic base tile, the glaze is blended with the clay that forms the tile. This porcelain clay "body" is then pressed at extreme pressure to form the tile in a highly sophisticated hydraulic press. The Porcelain tiles are then fired at very high temperatures exceeding 1200 degrees Centigrade, resulting in an extremely hard, dense, homogenous tile.
Marble
Marble is a crystalline compact variety of Limestone, primarily calcite (CaCo3) but impurities add colour in variegated patterns. Marble is also capable of taking a very high polish. Quarried all over the World and available in an almost endless variety of colours, the appeal of this material is that being a natural product, marble tiles can vary in shade and markings. Marble tiles offer a superb natural alternative for many applications. With many natural stones, you can get a line across the tile that can resemble a crack. This is a Quartz Vein and they appear quite naturally. Contrary to what you would expect they are not a weakness in the tile but quite the opposite.
Slate
Slate is a fine-grained metamorphic rock. Its main constituents are quartz, chlorite, mica & calcite. Slate is formed when ocean or riverbed sediments are compressed and heated by the earth's crust. A characteristic of natural stone is that there may be extreme variation in color and veining from tile to tile. This characteristic is common in many types of stone, and is part of the inherent beauty of using a natural product in your home.
